Ayub (Job) 21:7-18 Why do the wrong live, become old, and become mighty in power? (8) Their seed is established with them before their face, and their offspring before their eyes. (9) Their houses are peace without fear, neither is the rod of Aluah upon them. (10) Their bull breeds and does not fail, their cow calves without miscarriage. (11) They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance. (12) They sing to the tambourine and lyre, and rejoice to the sound of the flute. (13) They spend their days in goodness, and in a moment go down to the grave. (14) And they say to Al, ‘Turn aside from us, for we have no desire to know Your ways. (15) Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit do we have if we pray to Him?’ (16) See, is their good not in their own hand? (The counsel of the wrong has been far from me). (17) How often is the lamp of the wrong put out, and does come upon them their calamity, sorrows He allots in His displeasure? (18) They are like straw before the wind, and like chaff that a storm steals away.
Psalms 1:1-6 Assured is the man who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong, and shall not stand in the path of sinners, and shall not sit in the seat of scoffers, (2) but his delight is in the Turah of YAHUAH, and he meditates in His Turah day and night. (3) For he shall be as a tree planted by the rivers of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither, and whatever he does prospers. (4) The wrong are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind blows away. (5) Therefore the wrong shall not rise in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. (6) For YAHUAH knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wrong comes to naught.
Psalms 35:4-5 Let those be ashamed and blush who seek my life; Let those be turned back and abashed who plot evil to me. (5) Let them be as chaff before the wind, with a messenger of YAHUAH driving on.
Yashaw’yahu (Isaiah) 17:10-14 Because you have forgotten the Aluahim of your deliverance, and have not remembered the Rock of your stronghold, therefore you shall plant pleasant plants and set out foreign seedlings, (11) by day make your plant to grow, and in the morning make your seed to flourish – but the harvest is a heap in the day of grief and incurable pain. (12) Woe to the uproar of many people who make a noise like the roar of the seas, and to the rushing of nations that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters – (13) nations rushing like the rushing of many waters. But He shall rebuke them and they shall flee far away, and be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, like whirling dust before the whirlwind. (14) At eventide, look! Alarm! Before morning, it is no more. This is the portion of those who plunder us, and the lot of those who rob us.
Yashaw’yahu (Isaiah) 29:1-5 Woe to Ari’al, to Ari’al, the city where Dude dwelt! Add year to year, let festivals come around. (2) “And I shall distress Ari’al, and there shall be mourning and sorrow, and it shall be to Me as Ari’al. (3) “And I shall encamp against you all around, I shall lay siege against you with a mound, and I shall raise siege-works against you. (4) “And you shall be brought low and speak out of the ground, and your speech shall be low, out of the dust. And your voice shall be like a medium’s, out of the ground, and your speech whisper out of the dust. (5) “But the crowd of those strange to you shall be like fine dust, and the crowd of the ruthless ones as chaff blowing away. And it shall be in an instant, suddenly!”
Yashaw’yahu (Isaiah) 41:11-16 “See, all those who raged against you are ashamed and blush, they are as non-existent. And the men who strive with you perish. (12) “You seek them but do not find them, those who struggle with you. Those who fight you are as non-existent, as naught. (13) “For I, YAHUAH your Aluahim, am holding your right hand, saying to you, ‘Do not fear, I shall help you.’ (14) “Do not fear, you worm Yaw’aqub, you men of Yashur’al! I shall help you,” declares YAHUAH and your Redeemer, the Set-apart One of Yashur’al. (15) “See, I shall make you into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth, let you thresh mountains and beat them small, and make hills like chaff. (16) “You winnow them, the wind lifts them up, and the whirlwind scatters them; but you, you rejoice in YAHUAH , and boast in the Set-apart One of Yashur’al.”
Dany’al 2:27-35 Dany’al answered before the sovereign, and said, “The secret which the sovereign is asking – the wise ones, the astrologers, the magicians, and the diviners are unable to show it to the sovereign. (28) “But there is an Elah in the heavens who reveals secrets, and He has made known to Sovereign Nabukaduratsur what is to be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these: (29) “As for you, O sovereign, on your bed your thoughts came up: What is going to take place after this. And He who reveals secrets has made known to you what shall be after this. (30) “As for me, this secret has not been revealed to me because I have more wisdom than anyone living, but for our sakes who make known the interpretation to the sovereign, and that you should know the thoughts of your heart. (31) “You, O sovereign, were looking on, and saw a great image! This great image, and its brightness excellent, was standing before you, and its form was awesome. (32) “This image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, (33) its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. (34) “You were looking on, until a stone was cut out without hands, and it smote the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. (35) “Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing-floors. And the wind took them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that smote the image became a great mountain and filled all the earth.”
Husha’aw (Hosea) 12:1,8,14 Aphuraim is feeding on wind, and pursuing an east wind. All the day he increases falsehood and ruin. And they make a covenant with Ashur, and oil is sent to Matsuraim. (8) And Aphuraim says, “Indeed, I have become rich, I have found wealth for myself. In all my labours they shall find in me no crookedness that is sin.” (14) Aphuraim has provoked most bitterly. So his Master left his blood-guilt on him, and repaid him for his reproach.
Husha’aw (Hosea) 13:1-4 When Aphuraim spoke there was trembling, he was lifted up in Yashur’al. But through Baw’al he became guilty, and he died. (2) And now they sin more and more, and make for themselves moulded images from their silver, idols according to their skill, all of them the work of craftsmen. They say of them, “Let the men who slaughter kiss the calves!” (3) Therefore they shall be like a morning cloud, and like dew that goes away early, like chaff blown off from a threshing-floor, and like smoke from a window. (4) “But I am YAHUAH your Aluahim since the land of Matsuraim, and an Aluahim besides Me you shall not know, for there is no Saviour besides Me.”
Tsaphanyahu (Zephaniah) 2:1-3 Gather together, gather together, O nation without shame, (2) before the decree is born – the day shall pass on like chaff – before the burning wrath of YAHUAH comes upon you, before the day of wrath of YAHUAH comes upon you! (3) Seek YAHUAH, all you meek ones of the earth, who have done His right-ruling. Seek righteousness, seek meekness, if so be that you are hidden in the day of wrath of YAHUAH.
Matatyahu 3:1-12 And in those days Yahuchanan the Immerser came proclaiming in the wilderness of Yahudah, (2) and saying, “Repent, for the reign of the heavens has come near!” (3) For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Yashaw’yahu, saying, “A voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of YAHUAH, make His paths straight.’ ” (4) And Yahuchanan had a garment of camel’s hair, and a leather girdle around his waist. And his food was locusts and wild honey. (5) Then Yurushalam, and all Yahudah, and all the country around the Yuradan went out to him, (6) and they were immersed by him in the Yuradan, confessing their sins. (7) And seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his immersion, he said to them, “Brood of adders! Who has warned you to flee from the coming wrath? (8) “Bear, therefore, fruits worthy of repentance, (9) and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Aburaham as father.’ For I say to you that Aluahim is able to raise up children to Aburaham from these stones. (10) “And the axe is already laid to the root of the trees. Every tree, then, which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. (11) “I indeed immerse you in water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to bear. He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit and fire. (12) “His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He shall thoroughly cleanse His threshing-floor, and gather His wheat into the storehouse, but the chaff He shall burn with unquenchable fire.”
Luke 3:15-18 But as the people were in expectation, and all were reasoning in their hearts about Yahuchanan, whether he was ha’Mashyach or not, (16) Yahuchanan answered, saying to them all, “I indeed immerse you in water, but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal straps I am not worthy to loosen. He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit and fire. (17) “His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He shall thoroughly cleanse His threshing-floor, and gather the wheat into His storehouse, but the chaff He shall burn with unquenchable fire.” (18) And urging with many other words, he brought the Good News to the people.
