Exodus 32:7-10 And YAHUAH said to Mushah, “Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Matsuraim have corrupted themselves. (8) “They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a moulded calf, and have bowed themselves to it and slaughtered to it, and said, ‘This is your mighty one, O Yashur’al, who brought you out of the land of Matsuraim!’ ” (9) And YAHUAH said to Mushah, “I have seen this people, and see, it is a stiff-necked people! (10) “And now, let Me alone, that My wrath might burn against them and I consume them and I make of you a great nation.”

Exodus 33:1-5 And YAHUAH said to Mushah, “Come, go up from here, you and the people whom you have brought out of the land of Matsuraim, to the land of which I swore to Aburaham, to Yatsachaq, and to Yaw’aqub, saying, ‘To your seed I give it.’ (2) “And I shall send My Messenger before you, and I shall drive out the Kanaw’any and the Amury and the Chaty and the Purazy and the Chuy and the Yabusy, (3) to a land flowing with milk and honey. For I do not go up in your midst because you are a stiff-necked people, lest I consume you on the way.” (4) And when the people heard this evil word, they mourned, and no one put on his ornaments. (5) And YAHUAH said to Mushah, “Say to the children of Yashur’al, ‘You are a stiff-necked people. Should I go up in your midst for one moment and I shall consume you. And now, take off your ornaments, and I shall know what to do to you.’ ”

Exodus 34:8-10 And Mushah hurried and bowed himself toward the earth, and did obeisance, (9) and said, “If, now, I have found favour in Your eyes, O YAHUAH, I pray, let YAHUAH go on in our midst, even though we are a stiff-necked people. And forgive our crookedness and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance.” (10) And He said, “See, I am making a covenant. Before all your people I am going to do wonders such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of YAHUAH. For what I am doing with you is awesome.”

Deuteronomy 9:1-7 “Hear, O Yashur’al: You are passing over the Yuradan today, to go in to dispossess nations greater and stronger than yourself, cities great and walled up to the heavens, (2) a people great and tall, the descendants of the Awnaqim, whom you know, and of whom you heard it said, ‘Who does stand before the descendants of Awnaq?’ (3) “And you shall know today that YAHUAH your Aluahim is He who is passing over before you as a consuming fire – He does destroy them and subdue them before you. So you shall dispossess them and destroy them quickly, as YAHUAH has said to you. (4) “Do not think in your heart, after YAHUAH your Aluahim has driven them out before you, saying, ‘Because of my righteousness YAHUAH has brought me in to possess this land.’ But it is because of the wrong of these nations that YAHUAH is driving them out from before you. (5) “It is not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart that you go in to possess their land, but because of the wrong of these nations that YAHUAH your Aluahim drives them out from before you, in order to establish the word which YAHUAH swore to your fathers, to Aburaham, to Yatsachaq, and to Yaw’aqub. (6) “And you shall know that YAHUAH your Aluahim is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people. (7) “Remember, do not forget how you provoked to wrath YAHUAH your Aluahim in the wilderness. From the day that you came out of the land of Matsuraim until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against YAHUAH.

Deuteronomy 9:8-14 “Even in Churab you made YAHUAH wroth, so that YAHUAH was enraged with you, to destroy you. (9) “When I went up into the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant which YAHUAH made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I did not eat bread nor did I drink water. (10) “Then YAHUAH gave me the two tablets of stone written with the finger of Aluahim, and on them were all the Words which YAHUAH had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly. (11) “And it came to be, at the end of forty days and forty nights, that YAHUAH gave me the two tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant. (12) “Then YAHUAH said to me, ‘Arise, go down quickly from here, for your people whom you brought out of Matsuraim have acted corruptly. They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them, they have made themselves a moulded image.’ (13) “And YAHUAH spoke to me, saying, ‘I have seen this people, and look, they are a stiff-necked people. (14) ‘Leave Me alone, so that I destroy them and blot out their name from under the heavens, and make of you a nation stronger and greater than they.’ ”

Deuteronomy 31:24-27 And it came to be, when Mushah had completed writing the Words of this Turah in a book, until their completion, (25) that Mushah commanded the Luyim, who bore the ark of the covenant of YAHUAH, saying, (26) “Take this Book of the Turah, and you shall place it beside the ark of the covenant of YAHUAH your Aluahim, and it shall be there as a witness against you, (27) for I myself know your rebellion and your stiff neck. See, while I am still alive with you today, you have been rebellious against YAHUAH, then how much more after my death?”

2 Kings 17:13-15 And YAHUAH warned Yashur’al and Yahudah, through all of His prophets, and every seer, saying, “Turn back from your evil ways, and guard My commands and My laws, according to all the Turah which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by My servants the prophets.” (14) But they did not listen and hardened their necks, like the necks of their fathers, who did not put their trust in YAHUAH their Aluahim, (15) and rejected His laws and His covenant that He had made with their fathers, and His witnesses which He had witnessed against them, and went after worthlessness, and became worthless, and after the gentiles who were all around them, of whom YAHUAH had commanded them not to do like them.”

2 Chronicles 30:6-9 And the runners went to all Yashur’al and Yahudah with the letters from the sovereign and his leaders, and spoke according to the command of the sovereign, “Children of Yashur’al, turn back to YAHUAH Aluahim of Aburaham, Yatsachaq, and Yashur’al, so that He returns to the remnant of you who have escaped from the hand of the sovereigns of Ashur. (7) “And do not be like your fathers and like your brothers, who trespassed against YAHUAH Aluahim of their fathers, so that He gave them up to ruin, as you see. (8) “Now do not stiffen your neck, like your fathers, stretch forth the hand to YAHUAH, and come to His set-apart place, which He has set apart forever, and serve YAHUAH your Aluahim, so that His burning wrath turns away from you. (9) “For if you turn back to YAHUAH, your brothers and your children shall be shown compassion by their captors, even to return to this land. For YAHUAH your Aluahim shows favour and compassion, and does not turn His face from you if you turn back to Him.”

2 Chronicles 36:11-14 Tsadaqyahu was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Yurushalam. (12) And he did evil in the eyes of YAHUAH his Aluahim. He did not humble himself before Yurumyahu the prophet, who spoke from the mouth of YAHUAH. (13) And he also rebelled against Sovereign Nabukadnatsur, who had made him swear by Aluahim, but he stiffened his neck and hardened his heart against turning to YAHUAH Aluahim of Yashur’al. (14) Also, all the heads of the priests and the people trespassed more and more, according to all the abominations of the gentiles, and they defiled the House of YAHUAH which He had set apart in Yurushalam.

Nachamyah 9:13-17 “And You came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from the heavens, and gave them straight right-rulings and Turah of truth, good laws and commands. (14) “And You made known to them Your set-apart Shabat, and You commanded them commands and laws and Turut, by the hand of Mushah Your servant. (15) “And You gave them bread from the heavens for their hunger, and brought them water out of the rock for their thirst, and said to them to go in to possess the land which You had sworn to give them. (16) “But they and our fathers acted proudly, and hardened their necks, and did not obey Your commands. (17) “And they refused to obey, and they remembered not Your wonders that You did among them, and hardened their necks, and in their rebellion they appointed a leader to return to their bondage. But You are a forgiving Aluah, showing favour, and compassionate, patient, and of great kindness, and did not forsake them.”

Nachamyah 9:26-31 “But they became disobedient and rebelled against You, and cast Your Turah behind their backs. And they slew Your prophets who had warned them, to bring them back to Yourself. And they worked great blasphemies. (27) “Therefore You gave them into the hand of their enemies, who distressed them. And in the time of their distress, when they cried to You, You heard from the heavens. And according to Your great compassion You gave them saviours who saved them from the hand of their enemies. (28) “But after they had rest, they turned back to do evil before You. Then You left them in the hand of their enemies, so that they ruled over them. But when they turned back and cried out to You, You heard from the heavens, and delivered them according to Your compassion, many times, (29) and warned them, to bring them back to Your Turah. But they acted proudly, and did not obey Your commands, and sinned against Your right-rulings, ‘which if a man does, he shall live by them.’ And they gave the rebellious shoulder and hardened their necks, and would not hear. (30) “And You had patience with them for many years, and did warn them by Your Spirit, by the hand of Your prophets, yet they would not give ear. Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands. (31) “But in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them nor forsake them, for You are an Al of favour and compassion.”

Proverbs 29:1 One often reproved, hardening his neck, is suddenly broken, and there is no healing.

Yashaw’yahu 48:1-5 “Hear this, O house of Yaw’aqub, who are called by the name of Yashur’al, and have come from the waters of Yahudah, who swear by the Name of YAHUAH, and profess the Aluahim of Yashur’al – though not in truth or in righteousness – (2) for they call themselves after the set-apart city, and lean on the Aluahim of Yashur’al – YAHUAH of hosts is His Name: (3) “I have declared the former events from the beginning, and they went forth from My mouth, and I made you hear them. Suddenly I acted, and they came to be. (4) “Because I knew that you were hard, and your neck was an iron sinew, and your forehead bronze, (5) therefore I declared it to you long ago. Before it came I made you hear, lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them, and my carved image and my moulded image commanded them.’ ”

Yurumyahu 7:21-26 Thus said YAHUAH of hosts, the Aluahim of Yashur’al, “Add your burnt offerings to your slaughterings and eat meat. (22) “For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Matsuraim, about matters of burnt offerings or slaughterings. (23) “But this word I did command them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I shall be your Aluahim, and you be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, so that it be well with you.’ (24) “But they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in the counsels, in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward and not forward. (25) “From the day that your fathers came out of the land of Matsuraim until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them. (26) “But they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did evil, more than their fathers.”

Yurumyahu 17:19-27 Thus YAHUAH said to me, “Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, by which the sovereigns of Yahudah come in and by which they go out, and in all the gates of Yurushalam. (20) “And you shall say to them, ‘Hear the word of YAHUAH, you sovereigns of Yahudah, and all Yahudah, and all the inhabitants of Yurushalam, who enter by these gates. (21) ‘Thus said YAHUAH, “Guard yourselves, and bear no burden on the Shabat day, nor bring it in by the gates of Yurushalam, (22) nor take a burden out of your houses on the Shabat day, nor do any work. And you shall set apart the Shabat day, as I commanded your fathers. (23) “But they did not obey, or incline their ear, and they made their neck stiff not to hear and not to receive instruction. (24) “And it shall be, if you diligently obey Me,” declares YAHUAH, “to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the Shabat day, and set apart the Shabat day, to do no work in it, (25) then sovereigns and heads sitting on the throne of Dude shall enter in through the gates of this city, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their heads – the men of Yahudah and the inhabitants of Yurushalam. And this city shall be inhabited forever. (26) “And they shall come from the cities of Yahudah and from the places around Yurushalam, and from the land of Banyamin and from the low country, from the mountains and from the South, bringing burnt offerings and slaughterings, grain offerings and incense, bringing offerings of praise to the House of YAHUAH. (27) “But if you do not obey Me to set apart the Shabat day, and not to bear a burden when entering the gates of Yurushalam on the Shabat day, then I shall kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall consume the palaces of Yurushalam, and not be quenched.” ’ ”

Yurumyahu 19:14-15 And when Yurumyahu returned from Tuphat, where YAHUAH had sent him to prophesy, he stood in the courtyard of the House of YAHUAH and said to all the people, (15) “Thus said YAHUAH of hosts, the Aluahim of Yashur’al, ‘See, I am bringing on this city and on all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it, because they have stiffened their necks so as not to hear My words.’ ”

Acts 7:51-53 “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Set-apart Spirit, as your fathers did, you also do. (52) “Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who before announced the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, (53) who received the Turah as it was ordained by messengers, but did not watch over it.”
