Deuteronomy 32:35 Vengeance is Mine, and repayment, At the time their foot slips; For near is the day of their calamity, And the matters prepared are hastening to them.

Proverbs 24:21-22 My son, fear YAHUAH and the sovereign; Do not mingle with those who change; (22) For their calamity arises suddenly, And who knows the ruin of both of them?

Proverbs 27:10 Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend, And do not go into your brother’s house in the day of your calamity – Better is a neighbour nearby than a brother far away.

Yurumyahu 18:15-17 But My people have forgotten Me, they have burned incense to what is false, and they have stumbled from their ways, from the ancient paths, to walk in bypaths and not on a highway, (16) to make their land become a ruin, a hissing forever – everyone who passes by it is appalled and shakes his head. Yachazaq’al 35:4-5 Your cities I destroy, and let you be a ruin. And you shall know that I am YAHUAH. (5) Because you have had a continuous enmity, and handed the children of Yashur’al over to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of the crookedness of the end.

Awbadyahu 1:12-15 And you should not have looked on your brother’s day in the day of his estrangement, nor rejoiced over the children of Yahudah in the day of their destruction, nor made your mouth great in the day of distress, (13) nor have entered the gate of My people in the day of their calamity, nor looked down on their evil in the day of their calamity, nor have seized their wealth in the day of their calamity, (14) nor have stood at the parting of the way to cut off his fugitives, nor handed over his survivors in the day of distress. (15) For the day of YAHUAH is near upon all the gentiles. As you have done, it shall be done to you, your reward shall come back on your own head.

  1. Interesting..it would seem that our modern word…AIDE…arose through time and etymology as a result of/ answer to “calamity”
